ARE YOU WEARING YOUR CROWN?

ELEGANCE is in all of us.

It may be simple as smiling, laughing, hugging, inspiring or giving a compliment.
It may be noble as healing the sick, assisting the cripple, feeding the homeless, educating communities, loving all mankind or even volunteering.
It may be tranquil as praying for your family, friends, strangers, singing in a choir on a beautiful Sunday morning, or socializing among others while dining with Herend or Havilandfr chinaware.

It may be peaceful as yoga, a scripture about being a phenomenal mother, a vacation on one of God’s beautiful creations or even listening to jazz, classical, R&B, or a little hip-hop from south.
It may be polite as a PHD degree, articulate as a Easters speech, a home book collection of love, social, culture, politics, art, philosophy, theater, science, health, theology, economics or anything about history, a theatrical play on Broadway, or an intellectual dialogue about our First African-American Lady Michelle Obama radiant beauty.
It may be graceful as the new and old testament, or sitting in a breathtaking garden with roses, tulips, calla lilies, lily of the valleys, hydrangeas, ranunculus, stephanotis, sweet peas, gardenias, baby breaths, and peonies sipping from a Reed and Barton silver adorable coffee/tea set.

It may be extravagant as Mikimoto pearls, Hermes scarves, and Tiffany and Company diamonds with a famous blue box.
It may be unique as Lalique crystals, a Baccarat chandelier, or even a grandmother’s hand painted jewelry box.
It may be as distinctive as a bottle of Creed, a porcelain doll, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, or an antique priceless piece.

It may be artistry as gold leaf oil paintings of flowers, ballerinas, horses, landscapes, or golf, a royal Venetian mirror, or a Venus Sculpture in the middle of a house.
It may be remarkable as getting married and putting on that one of kind white dress or birthing God’s greatest gift call children.
It may be sophisticated as a Chanel, Balenciaga, Prada or a Lana Marks.

It may be unforgettable as a Vincent Van Gogh or Daniel Jean-Baptiste painting, first dance, first piano recital, a kindergarten coloring book or a cheerleading tryout.
It may be soaring as a pair of stilettos on a rack, a first lip-gloss in a backpack or a french Grandfather’s clock that chime pop.
It may be as pure as a backbone for a husband that is also known as a spouse.

It may be luxury as a D. Porthault sheets, Cashmere sweaters or going to Carnegie Hall to hear the symphony.
It may be as loving as a mother giving a set of flawless pearls on a daughters 16th birthday or kissing a crush behind a tree and forever in secrecy.
Most importantly, it may be Heavenly as a woman’s everlasting Divine Faith throughout history!

LADIES YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE ELOQUENT!

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAID, “I CAN’T AFFORD IT?”

It was a beautiful Monday morning and I was driving in rush hour traffic on my way to Spelman College from Stockbridge, Georgia. As I relaxed in my vehicle listening to V-103 (the people’s station) about the latest news and happenings around the City of Atlanta I noticed my gas tank was very low. I decided to pull over to Quick-Trip for some petroleum. I begin to ponder, “Why gas is so expensive?” Next, discouraged saying, “How long will the citizens of the United States of America have to endure these high gas prices?” Finally, the most pertinent question, “What is the President of the United States doing to cease this problem?”

I'm blessed to know I'm in a rich scholarly environment. Having the privilege to pursue a superb education is refining me intellectually, socially, economically and politically.

Did you know in the United States of America in some states like Georgia minimum wage is $7.25, Florida is $7.25, Louisiana is $7.25, New York is $7.25 and Hawaii is $7.25 (The United State Department of Labor: 2009). If you multiply $7.25(40) it equals $290.00 a week. If you multiply $290.00 (4) it equals $1,160.00 a month. If you multiply $1,160.00 (12) it equals $13, 920.00 a year. Respectfully, let’s not forget Uncle Sam must get his portion of those earnings. This phenomenon contributes to poverty. First, we must become more vocal about education and how it’s rewarding socially, politically and economically. Second, we must advocate increasing minimum wages, and how it will reduce poverty and allow health care insurance. Finally, we must learn the value of saving and investing money. How do you value a dollar, 10 dollars, 20 dollars or even 100 dollars?

If you would like to learn more about how to increase your salary, save your money and rise from this recession please check out the following:

So the next time you think about blessing someone with money, receiving money or even saving to invest money please take some quality time to think about what your money can really do for you.

I BELIEVE IN SPELMAN COLLEGE

As a little girl wearing pigtails, glasses, a plaid skirt and FootMates white/ecru shoes, I remember walking through the gates of Spelman College where noble women of color are destined to change the world through their academic achievements and leadership development, improve the environment and practice humanitarian. Strolling among the red bricked buildings, there was an ere of sophistication that breached the line dividing antiquity and modernity, to unify the stories of legendary women both past and present. I smelled the aroma from the beautiful flowers and felt the fresh air brushing across my face from the swaying trees. The students were wearing famous Spelman’s logo shirts and/or business attire with exquisite pearls. While some were rushing about, their high heels making clapping sounds against the sidewalk, simultaneously, others were humped over with book bags filled with rich knowledge trying to make it to their destinations within a timely matter.

Some Notable Spelman Graduates: Alberta Williams King Mother of Martin Luther King, Jr, Esther Rolle Actress (1942), Danica Tisdale Miss Georgia 2004 (2001), Alice Walker Novelist "The Color Purple"(1965), Rolanda Watts Actress (1980), Cassis Davis Actress (1988), Keshia Knight Pulliam Actress (2001), LaTanya Richardson Jackson Actress (1971), Tanika Ray Actress (1994), Mattiwilda Dobbs Opera Singer (1937), Sharmell Sullivan Miss Black America 1993, Tina McElroy Ansa Author (1971), Aurelia Brazeal U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia (1965), Pearl Cleage Novelist (1971), Ruth Davis Director General of the U.S. Foreign Service (1966), Marian Edelman Founder of the Children's Defense Fund (1960), Beverly Guy-Sheftall Author, Phire Dawson Actress and NFL Cheerleader.

ARE YOU JEALOUS? J-JOYFUL, E-ELOQUENT, A-APPRECIATIVE, L-LOVABLE, O-OPULENT, U-, UNIQUE, S-SCHOLARY

Good Morning, this is a dedicated sweet tea and biscuits moment: As you rise in the morning from a beautiful night of sleep do you wake with positive energy? Throughout the day do you smile with grace to others? Do you at least give 3 to 5 compliments to others during the day? Are you willing to share your words of wisdom to others when they are dealing with disappointments? When you are feeling a sense of happiness do you strive to express among others? Although, you are distinctively created by a higher power, are you willing to socialize with others who may not resemble you? Once discovering if someone possesses insecurities are you willing to help them with confidence demonstrations? Are you willing to look at others and see greatness in them no matter what? Fruit of the day, “I’m always willing to share my last.”
