CALLING ALL LADIES, PRINCESSES AND QUEENS

PRINCESS LEA RULES

You’re braver than I thought! Women are designed to encourage and empower. Women have to go beyond the call of duty. Sometimes they have to inspire one but then they result to motivating all. When there is war; there is peace. When there is poverty; there is prosperity. When there is doubt; there is faith. When there is deceit; there is truth. Most important, when there is hate; there is love. Star Wars proved those survival skills to all of us. Let’s go down memory lane. “I find your lack of faith disturbing”, said Darth Vader, Star Wars Episode IV, “I’m Luke Skywalker- I’m here to rescue you”, said Luke Skywalker, Star Wars Episode IV,  “And may the Force be with you”, said General Dodonna, Star Wars Episode IV, “Han Solo: I love you. Princess Leia: I know”, said Princess Leia, Star Wars Episode VI. Just remember, there is always a woman on standby waiting gracefully to make that unknown moment beautiful. XOXOXO

TAKE TWO OF THESE CROSSWORD PUZZLES AND CALL ME IN THE MORNING

IT’S ALL ABOUT MATH, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC

A mind is a terrible thing to lose. How often does once stimulate the mind. Or, how often does one use critical thinking? Life is about progression, growth and development. Did you know your brain continues to grow? Yes, even during the aging epoch.
Although, any intellectually stimulating activity can help prevent brain disease and increase intellect and/or brain power, crossword puzzles, which require daily, sustained bursts of cognitive effort, are particularly effective in helping prevent memory loss. Let’s practice prevention. It’s easy. We are all victims of saying I forgot and/or I don’t remember. Ladies, you can be smart and pretty. That sounds pretty cool!
To keep minds and/or brains healthy try some of these cute ideas. Please consult with your local health doctor.
  1. Experience new, safe, and fun things. Each time you learn something new, safe, and fun your brain builds new pathways.
  2. Maintain old skills and/or develop new ones, e.g. reading, cooking, sports, gardening, learning to play golf.
  3. Socialize with old friends, and make new friends. Beware of gossipers.
  4. Exercise. Yes, your brain and body are connected. Studies have proven that exercise stimulates new cell growth in the brain increasing mental abilities 20% to 30%. Great numbers.
  5. Beauty Sleep. A good night of sleep (about 8 hours) is essential for proper brain function.
  6. Drink plenty of water. The brain works best when properly hydrated. Don’t keep your brain thirsty.
  7. Eat a healthy diet. Research constantly demonstrates that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables will benefit the brain and the body. Remember your body is your kingdom. XOXOXO

WHO AND WHERE IS YOUR SUPERVISOR

THANK YOU FOR COMING TO CHICK-FIL-A AND IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO SERVE YOU

Customer Service practices is becoming a memory. Customer Service is a culture. You have to practice, believe and invest into the philosophy. It starts at a young age.
Here’s a cute story to share. You are sitting in a 3rd grade classroom. Your teacher asks nicely, “Please, Jane Doe can you help me hand out pencils and some paper.” You proceed to participant. As you walk to the tables you have an opportunity to respond politely or rudely. First option: you politely say to the first student, which pencil do you want and here’s your paper with a smile and thank you. This process continues until you have completed your task. Second option: you rudely say to the first student, take this pencils and paper with a mean look on your face and walk off.  There were options to offer which color pencils to students but you don’t care. This process continues until you have completed the task. The second option demonstrating the rude behavior continues throughout adolescent’s years. Furthermore, it’s sad that it continues throughout adulthood too.
Collectively, how can we all contribute to this social phenomenon? It starts with parents but it takes a village.
Some years ago, Chick-fil-A figured it out. Did you know Chick-fil-A is one of the top fast-food restaurants that practice, invest and believe in quality customer service? Every time, I go into a Chick-Fil-A restaurant they make me feel like I’m the only customer. Their employees work very hard to make your Chick-Fil-A experience a great one. So the next time you want quality food and superb customer service go to Chick-Fil-A. It’s my pleasure! XOXOXO

ACCORDING TO THE BRITISH YOU’RE, “DOG’S DINNER.” (DRESS NICELY)

RALPH LAUREN CARDIGAN

If you’re going to a Junior League Meeting (JLM), a church picnic, a library reading, dining with family and friends, volunteering for your local charity or a social outing you need something cute and trendy to wrap up in. Did you know Mr. Roger’s---à”My Neighbors”, believed that too? You need a cardigan for warmth and style. Some believe cardigans are exclusively for the smart and trendy. The cardigan sweater begins as far back as the mid 1800's during the Crimean War. James Thomas Brudenell was the 7th Earl of Cardigan - and he's who the sweater was named after.  This British military commander served in this war and thus began the wearing of the cardigan sweater in popular culture. So, the next time you put on your Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, J-Crew, Brooks Brother and Lacoste cardigan think about the British.  Bee’s Knees. XOXOXO

A BED COMES IN DIFFERENT FORMS AND FASHION!

IT’S MORE THAN JUST A NAP

Daily, I drive by the bridge en-route to downtown, Atlanta, I ponder on all the men and women who are homeless. I see clothes, buggies, cardboard boxes, and a lot of this and that. One particular day, as I was drove by the bridge it was raining really hard. I noticed the homeless people were trying to stay dry. I thought it will be a cute idea to donate some tents. Homeless is a social phenomenon but that doesn’t mean we can’t fight it.  So the next time you’re at Target or even at your local thrifty shop, please think about the homeless people and donate a tent to a shelter. It’s a start. XOXOXO

TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK------>WHAT TIME IS IT?

Time is always ticking.  Every second, minute and hour someone is always looking at their watch, phone or even politely inquiring about what time it is? How often does one relax in a beautiful garden to read a book? Or, how often does one go to their local park where lovely flowers are placed to read a magazine? Have you thought about planting flowers in your yard? I’m sure you’ve mesmerized how elegant and peaceful it would be to have a stunning garden in your front or back yard. Not to mention having a cold glass of lemonade while reading the latest Oprah (O) magazine. Ladies, I know the winter is around the corner but it’ never too late to prepare a garden for next year. Until then, just think about all the beautiful flowers you’ll soon be relaxing and reading around. What’s your favorite color rose or flower? XOXOXO

IT’S SOMETHING ABOUT A GRANDMOTHER’S KITCHEN!

When it comes to a grandmother’s lovely kitchen we want to know the hidden ingredients to her delicious recipes. We sneak in her cabinets and pry through her special cookbooks. Sometimes we even sneak in her office to see if we’re lucky enough to find something about her sweet potato pies or blueberry muffins. Once we walk into her gorgeous home, we immediately smell those red onions, green peppers with a touch of garlic cooking with some good-old, chicken. She may even sprinkle those delightful [fixings] on some vegetables. Regardless, grandmother will always be the best cook. But, I’m sure she would like her girls to know about the red onion, green peppers with a touch of garlic. Shhh, you didn’t hear one of grandmother’s hidden ingredients from me. XOXOXO
