IT’S ALL ABOUT MATH, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC
|
A mind is a terrible thing to lose. How often does
once stimulate the mind. Or, how often does one use critical thinking? Life is
about progression, growth and development. Did you know your brain continues to
grow? Yes, even during the aging epoch.
Although, any intellectually stimulating activity
can help prevent brain disease and increase intellect and/or brain power, crossword
puzzles, which require daily, sustained bursts of cognitive effort, are
particularly effective in helping prevent memory loss. Let’s practice
prevention. It’s easy. We are all victims of saying I forgot and/or I don’t
remember. Ladies, you can be smart and pretty. That sounds pretty cool!
To keep minds and/or brains healthy try some of
these cute ideas. Please consult with your local health
doctor.
- Experience new, safe, and fun things. Each time you learn something new, safe, and fun your brain builds new pathways.
- Maintain old skills and/or develop new ones, e.g. reading, cooking, sports, gardening, learning to play golf.
- Socialize with old friends, and make new friends. Beware of gossipers.
- Exercise. Yes, your brain and body are connected. Studies have proven that exercise stimulates new cell growth in the brain increasing mental abilities 20% to 30%. Great numbers.
- Beauty Sleep. A good night of sleep (about 8 hours) is essential for proper brain function.
- Drink plenty of water. The brain works best when properly hydrated. Don’t keep your brain thirsty.
- Eat a healthy diet. Research constantly demonstrates that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables will benefit the brain and the body. Remember your body is your kingdom. XOXOXO
